Thanks to Ralph Brewer for this one.
Last night I called an  Old engineering Buddy and asked him what he was working on nowadays.  He said he was working on aqua thermal treatment of ceramics, aluminum, and steel under a constrained environment, which I found pretty impressive. Upon talking with him a little longer, I learned he was washing dishes with hot water under his wife supervision.
