Fruit Cocktail Cake

Ingredients:

2 cups flour
1-1/2 cups sugar
2 eggs
2 cups fruit cocktail (drain and reserve syrup)
2 teaspoons baking soda
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup walnuts
3/4 cup evaporated milk
1/2 cup margarine
3/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup coconut

Method:

Mix first five ingredients including syrup. Add fruit cocktail last. Place
in 13 by 9 inch cake pan, spread evenly. Sprinkle over top, brown sugar and walnuts. Bake at 350 degrees F for 45 minutes. While cake is cooling, combine last 5 ingredients in small saucepan and cook for 3 minutes over low heat. When cake is still warm, pick all over with toothpick, then drizzle topping over all.
