CINCINNATI SKYLINE CHILI

Ingredients:

2 pounds lean ground beef
2 large chopped onions
1 toe garlic
1 ounce unsweetened chocolate,
grated
1 1/2 teaspoons ground allspice
1 teaspoon seed or ground cumin
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
3 large whole bay leaves
1 1/2 Tablespoons cider vinegar
1 (6 ounce ) can tomato paste
1 qt. water
2 Tablespoons chili powder
1 teaspoon freshly ground pepper
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 Tablespoon salt
1/2 teaspoon red pepper or chili
pepper


Method:

Crumble the raw (do not brown) hamburger into the water.
Add all ingredients; bring to boil. Simmer for 3 hours.
Remove garlic toe and bay leaves. Add whole red peppers, if
desired for a spicier taste.


Helpful Hints:

May be served plain or over spaghetti or with beans. Three way is spaghetti with chili and cheese over it. Four way is spaghetti, chili, onion and cheese. Five way is spaghetti, chili, onions, beans and cheese. Or serve over frankfurter on bun adding onions, cheese, etc. Serve with oyster crackers. Serves 10 to 12.
