For the brownies:
1 cup light brown sugar
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup butter, melted
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 eggs, large
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 cup cocoa powder
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
For the cream cheese mixture:
8 ounces cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2/3 cup heavy cream
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Step 1 - Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F.
Step 2 - Line a 9x13-inch baking pan with parchment paper and spray the paper with cooking spray.
Step 3 - In a large bowl, add the brown sugar, 1/4 cup of the granulated sugar, the butter, the salt, and the eggs and stir until smooth.
Step 4 - Add the flour and the cocoa powder to the sugar mixture and stir until a brownie batter has formed.
Step 5 - Stir the chocolate chips into the brownie batter.
Step 6 - Evenly spread the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan.
Step 7 - In a large bowl, add the cream cheese, the remaining granulated sugar, the heavy cream, and the vanilla extract and combine with an electric mixer.
Step 8 - Drop the cream cheese mixture in blobs on top of the brownie batter.
Step 9 - Drag a butter knife through the cream cheese blobs, swirling and mixing the cream cheese mixture with the brownie batter.
Step 10 - Bake until a toothpick inserted in the center comes up clean, about 30-34 minutes.
Step 11 - Allow the brownies to cool before using the parchment paper to lift them from the pan.
Step 12 - Slice and serve.
