1 pound lean ground beef
1 egg, slightly beaten
1 teaspoon salt
Dash pepper
2 tablespoons shortening
1 medium green pepper, cut into strips
1 medium onion, sliced
1 1/2 cups pineapple juice
1/4 cup Heinz 57 Sauce
Hot buttered rice
Lightly combine ground beef, egg, salt and pepper. Form into 16 meatballs. Partially brown meatballs in shortening. Add green pepper and onion. Saut� until vegetables are tender. Stir in pineapple juice and Heinz 57 Sauce. Cover. Simmer 15 to 20 minutes, or until meatballs are cooked. Thicken sauce with cornstarch/water mixture, if desired. Serve over rice.
