6 cups apples, peeled, cored and cut into slices
3 cups bread crumbs
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon nutmeg
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup butter or margarine, melted
1/4 cup walnuts, finely chopped (optional)
Place the apples in the bottom of the stoneware. In a mixing bowl, combine
the bread crumbs, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, brown sugar, butter and walnuts. Spread mixture over the apples in the stoneware. Cover cook on Low for 3 to 4 hours or on High for 1 1/2 to 2 hours.
