Asian Style Vinaigrette

Ingredients:

1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon kosher or sea salt
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
2 tablespoons water
6 tablespoons seasoned rice vinegar
1 cup vegetable oil

Method:

1. Place the sugar, salt, pepper, water and vinegar in a jar, cruet or bottle with a tight-fitting lid and shake vigorously until sugar is dissolved. Add the oil and shake to combine well.
2. Store in the refrigerator; shake before using. This salad dressing will keep for weeks.

Helpful Hints:

Makes 1 1/2 cups or approximately 12 (2 tablespoon) servings.

Homemade salad dressing is quick, easy to make and tastes so much better! Seasoned rice wine vinegar gives this vinaigrette its distinct oriental flavor, it's perfect tossed with assorted salad greens or thinly sliced Napa cabbage and green onions for a simple slaw. Try it drizzled over grilled chicken or pork, too!
