Bettys Fresh Fruit Dumplings

Contributed By: Brenda

Ingredients:

1 Pint Fresh fruit (Blueberries or blackberry's suggested)
1/2 cup of sugar
1 can small pillsbury canned biscuits.

Method:

a pint of fresh fruit - we usually use blueberries or blackberries
1/2 cup of sugar
put those in a pan of water, about 3 inches above the fruit. Bring to a boil and let boil about 5 minutes before the next step. Be sure the pan is deep because the dumplings will add volume and it will boil over.
for the dumplings, use a can of the small, cheap pillsbury canned biscuits. Cut the biscuits into fourths and drop into the boiling fruit mixture. Stir gently. Put the lid on and continue to boil 5 to 8 minutes.

Helpful Hints:

I like these warm with ice cream on top. Some people like them cool. You can use most types of fruit, fresh or canned but not a pie filling. I have used peach, blueberry, blackberry, strawberry, cherry, raspberry. Fibrous fruit like apples probably wouldn't work well but I've never tried it.
