Cape Breton Oat cakes

Ingredients:

2 Cups of flour
2 Cups of rolled oats
1 Cup brown sugar
2 tsp. Baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 Cup Shortening
1/2 Cup cold water

Method:

Stir together in large bowl: flour, oats,
brown sugar, baking powder and salt
Rub in shortening with finger-tips until
crumbly
Mix in water and form ball
Roll out on floured surface 1/2 inch and
cut
Bake on greased sheet at 350 degrees for
15 minutes
