Corned Beef and Cabbage Casserole

1 small cabbage
2 tbsp margarine
1/2 cop chopped onion
1 - 12 oz can corned beef

3 tbsp margarine
3 tbsp flour
1 1/2 cups milk
1/2 tsp salt
1/8 tsp pepper

2 tbsp margarine
1 cup fine bread crumbs


Cut cabbage in half & each half into 3 pieces.
Remove core & boil in salted water for 20 minutes.
Drain & put in bottom of a 1/2 qt casserole dish.

Melt butter in frying pan.
Add onion & corned beef & saute'.
Break up corned beef & continue until
onion is clear. Pour mixture over cabbage.

In a medium saucepan, melt butter. Stir in flour,
add milk & salt & pepper & bring to a boil while stirring.
Pour over meat mixture.

In a small saucepan melt butter.
Stir in crumbs to blend
& sprinkle over top of sauce.

Bake uncovered @ 250* for 30 minutes.
