12 ounces cranberries, thawed if frozen
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup orange juice
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1 tablespoon grated orange zest
Rinse cranberries, set aside.
In a non-reactive saucepan, combine water, orange juice, and sugar.
Bring to a boil, stirring continuously.
Add the cranberries and cook until the skins of the berries pop.
Remove from heat and stir in orange zest.
Transfer mixture to a bowl and let cool to room temperature.
