Famous Cracker Chicken

Ingredients:

2 eggs, beaten
1 cup buttery round crackers, crushed into crumbs
1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
ground black pepper, to taste
4 chicken breast halves, skinless and boneless
1/2 cup butter, cut into pieces

Method:

1 Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.
2 Place the eggs and cracker crumbs in two separate, shallow bowls.
3 Add the garlic salt and pepper to the cracker crumbs and mix to combine.
4 Dip the chicken in the eggs and then in the crumb mixture to coat.
5 Place the chicken in a 9x13-inch baking dish in a single layer.
6 Place the pieces of butter around the chicken.
7 Bake until the chicken is cooked through, reading 165 degrees F when inserted with a meat thermometer, and the juices run clear, for about 40 minutes.
8 Serve warm.
