Contributed By: Terry Borden

Ingredients:

1 cup vegetable oil, for frying
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon seasoning salt, or to taste
salt, to taste
pepper, to taste
4 (3/4-inch-thick) pork chops
green peas, cooked, optional, for serving
macaroni and cheese, optional, for serving

Method:

Step 1 In a large skillet on the stove-top over medium-high heat, heat the oil.
Step 2 In a plastic resealable bag, combine the flour, seasoning salt, salt, and pepper.
Step 3 Place the pork chops in the bag, seal, and shake to coat the chops.
Step 4 Once the oil is thoroughly heated, remove the pork chops from the bag, shaking off any excess flour.
Step 5 Fry the chops in the skillet until golden on the outside and the juices run clear, about 4 to 5 minutes per side. The chops should have an internal temperature of 145 degrees F when measured with a meat thermometer.
