Maple Butterscotch Brownies

Ingredients:

1/2 cup butter or margarine, melted
1 1/2 cups packed brown sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons maple flavoring
2 eggs
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 cup chopped walnuts
Powdered sugar, optional

Method:

In a mixing bowl, cream together butter and brown sugar. Add maple
flavoring. Add eggs, 1 at a time, beating well after each addition. Combine
flour and baking powder; add to creamed mixture. Stir in walnuts. Pour into
a greased 9 inch square baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes, or
until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. Cool in pan on a
wire rack. Dust with powdered sugar, if desired.
