1 half cup butter (1 stick)
1 and a half cups sugar
3 eggs
1 cup buttermilk
3 tablespoons flour
1 tablespoon vanilla
1 half teaspoon nutmeg(you can use 1 fourth teaspoon if you do not like a strong nutmeg taste)
1 tablespoon lemon juice (optional)
1 9 inch pre-made or homemade pie crust
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
1. Mix together butter and sugar, beat until smooth.
2. Add eggs, buttermilk, nutmeg, flour, and vanilla. Mix until well combined.
3. Pour into pie crust.
4. Bake for 45 to 60 minutes
5. Cool and enjoy.
Store in the refrigerator. I recommend enjoying at room temperature. If the recipe is too sweet for your taste buds, just cut back on the sugar
