One Step Lasagna

Ingredients:

1 pound ground beef
1 32 ounce jar spaghetti sauce
3/4 cup water
1 teaspoon basil
1 teaspoon oregano
12 ounce carton cottage cheese
1 egg
8 lasagna noodles
6 slices mozzarella cheese, or 2 cups grated
1/3 cup Parmesan cheese

Method:

Brown ground beef, drain. With ground beef, combine spaghetti sauce, water, seasonings and set aside. In another bowl, combine cottage cheese, and 1 egg.
In a greased 9by 13 inch pan, layer the following:
4 uncooked lasagna noodles 1/2 of the meat sauce 1/2 the cottage cheese mixture
3 mozzarella cheese slices Repeat the previous layers
Sprinkle with 1/3 cup Parmesan cheese. Cover and seal tightly with heavy aluminum foil. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes covered. Uncover and bake an additional 30 minutes. Let stand at least 20 minutes before serving.

Note: The noodles cook in the sauce, and this is best assembled and stored in the fridgethe night before baking)
