Helpful Hints:

Shrimp Pilau (pronounced Pi'-lou or pi'-lo) is colloquially referred to as Shrimp "Perlo" and is simply a dish consisting of rice, spices, and meat or seafood,in this case, shrimp. Since most liquids are absorbed when the shrimp are added, the shrimp are cooked by conduction of heat and the steam produced from the rice. This is a little different than the common method of steaming food. Nevertheless, this is an unusually delicious recipe, which is sure to please.
