Soft Sour Cream Cookies


1/2 lb. butter or margarine
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup light brown sugar
3 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup sour cream
3 cups flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder


Combine butter or margarine with sugars and slightly beaten eggs. Beat about
2 minutes at medium speed. Add vanilla. In a separate bowl, combine dry ingredients. Add to other ingredients and beat another minute. Drop by heaping teaspoonfuls onto an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes or until light brown.
Cool cookies completely, then spread with creamy vanilla frosting.

tint frosting with food coloring. Sprinkle frosting with a small amount of
flaked coconut or top with a maraschino cherry if desired.
