Spiced Squash and Fruit Crumble

Ingredients:

6 thick-sliced bacon strips, cut into 1/2-inch pieces
1-1/4 pounds cubed peeled butternut squash (1-inch cubes)
3 medium Granny Smith apples, peeled and cut into wedges (about 4 cups)
2 medium pears, peeled and cut into 1-inch cubes
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground mace
1/4 cup cold butter
1/2 cup chopped pecans, toasted

Method:

1. Preheat oven to 350ยบ. In a large skillet, cook bacon over medium heat until almost crisp, stirring occasionally. Drain on paper towels.
2. Combine squash, apples and pears in an ungreased 13x9-in. baking dish. In a small bowl, mix brown sugar, flour, salt, cinnamon and mace. Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Fold in pecans and bacon. Sprinkle over squash mixture.
3. Bake until squash and fruit are tender, 45 to 50 minutes.
